KEY PERSONNEL:

Grant D. Tolton, P.L.S. #20865,

President, CEO of Mid-Mountain Surveyors Inc.

Grant has over 37 years of land survey experience getting his first summer surveying job in 1971.  He became a Professional Land Surveyor 1982 and founded Mid-Mountain Surveyors in 1983. 

 

Grant is licensed to practice land surveying in Washington and Idaho and has been a member of the Land Surveying Association of Washington since 1984.  He has served as LSAW Northeast Chapter President in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997 and Board of Trustee in 1998, 1999, 2003 and 2008.  He is currently Northeast Chapter President of the LSAW.

 

Grant became a Certified Federal Surveyor (CfedS) in February of 2007 by taking an advanced course in cadastral surveying developed and administrated by the US Bureau of Land Management.  Grant graduated and passed his examination among the BLM’s first (beta) group of surveyors.  A Certified Federal Surveyor is authorized by the BLM to perform land surveys on Indian Trust land under federal authority.

Ernie was born into a land surveying family.  Both his father and grandfather were professional land surveyors from Ferry County.

 

Ernie began very early as a surveying field assistant at the age of 12 working for his father and grandfather.

 

With over 25 years of experience as a field crew party chief, Ernie was first employed by MMSI in 1990 and has proven to be an essential part of our company’s success.  Ernie has a highly developed talent for finding and analyzing field evidence of original surveys.  He has become very proficient in the many aspects of land surveying and the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and has extensive experience with survey records research, preliminary boundary calculations, field survey operations, and CAD plat production. Ernie also has 6 years experience surveying in Alaska and 3 years experience as a field engineer with a construction company on the east coast.
